Green Co Ltd. has a farm located at 1000 m in the highlands of
Vietnam, in Dalat area (300 km in north of Saigon), one of the best
places in Asia for Raspberries. Natural conditions of production (soil
and climate) allow optimal growth of berries.
Our first concern is the quality of our berries to offer to local
or export markets this such of pleasure from eye appeal to specific
sweet-acid taste when they eat our fruits.
By this way, quality is checked at all elaboration levels from production to export to guarantee best organoleptic and sanitary features.
In our farm, local labours are supervised by French and Vietnamese agronomists. The team is in contact with specialists of famous French research institutes (CIRAD: Agronomic International Research Centre for Development, CTIFL: Technical Institute on Fruits and Vegetables) to benefit from new technical approaches in production and post-harvest handling to assure high quality level.
We cultivate our raspberry plants under tunnels to better control production parameters (water supply, wind, and fertilisation...) for optimal growth of berries. By using black nets to close tunnels and colour traps, we control insect population. As a consequence, we only apply chemicals when critic level is reached. By reducing chemical use we work toward to better working conditions for our labours and we contribute to preserve environment.
During harvest, early in the morning to avoid high heat, well trained employees fill up directly our 170 g punnets to reduce fruit manipulations, by selecting only disease free, damage free and just mature berries. When boxes are full, weight and quality of each punnet are checked in post-harvest room. Fruits are either used fresh or frozen under IQF process.
To keep best quality with consumption delay due to export, we reduce temperature to 2-4 Celsius degrees in our cold room where we store fruits in open carton trays. When fruits leave the farm, cartons trays are placed in sealed isotherm boxes. For transportation from the farm to airport, we use our frigorific truck to respect cold chain at 4 ºC.
